This announcement set provides automatically repeated recorded announcements to the group alerting system. The 2AB telephone answering set is controlled remotely by means of the push buttons of a modified 565GBR key telephone set through a 53A control unit.

The 2AB telephone answering set consists essentially of a 2A telephone answering set which has been modified by removing the external controls and indicators and changing the wiring so that it can be remotely controlled.
