This Wescom card shows how to integrate 4-wire sets into key telephone systems.
The 6842 and 6843 telephone sets are normal 565 or 2565 5-line key sets with an added relay. The relay, when activated, moves the handset receiver from the 425 network and connects it to a separate pair. The Wescom 405 card is the interface with the 4-wire circuit. The key telephone works normally with 1A2 KSUs with 2-wire lines. If the button for the 4-wire line is selected the set becomes a 4-wire telephone.
